A man was shot and killed, apparently by his uncle, on Friday morning inside a car in Doral, west of Miami, the Miami-Dade Police said.

The shooting took place shortly after 6 a.m. on NW 36th Street and 84th Avenue. Investigators said they believe that the two men argued inside their silver sports car before the shooting, said Rebeca Perez, a spokeswoman for the Miami-Dade Police.

The victim was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died.

His uncle was being questioned at the Miami-Dade Police headquarters in Doral. He has not been formally charged, the police said.

The police said they don’t know what prompted the shooting. Doral police officers received a call at 6:14 a.m. and arrived on the scene a few minutes later.

The shooting forced road closings in the area for several hours.
